Hertsmere Borough Council ("the Council") seeks quotations from suitably experienced and competent contractors to undertake the design, permitting and implementation of brook and lake improvement works within Aberford Park, Borehamwood, Hertfordshire. The watercourse within Aberford Park forms part of Tykes Water and receives surface water runoff from surrounding roads and residential areas. At the head of the brook is an oil interceptor, originally installed to prevent pollution from Borehamwood's historic industrial activities. The interceptor has since been decommissioned by the Environment Agency as surrounding land uses have changed and are now predominantly residential, office and light industrial. Surface water currently bypasses the interceptor and discharges directly into the lake. Major restoration works were undertaken in 1999 and 2008, including desilting, reprofiling, fountain installation and refurbishment, and planting works. The Council understands that sediments removed during these works were retained and beneficially reused within the site. Approximately eighteen years have elapsed since the last major intervention. The Council has identified a number of issues requiring remediation: • Increased silt accumulation resulting in reduced lake depth; • Malfunctioning fountains due to sediment accumulation; • Algal blooms and associated odours during summer months; • Excessive reed growth resulting from low flows and seasonal water level variations.

South Derbyshire District Council (the Council) is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Supplier to undertake external landscaping works at Granville Recreation Ground, Woodville, Swadlincote. Tewkesbury Borough Council is undertaking a project to enhance three existing play areas within Wheatpieces Parish, Tewkesbury, using approximately £200,000 of commuted sum funding. The sites serve a growing residential area with a broad range of children and young people and are located at Beauchamp Road, Chamomile Way and Snapdragon Close. The project aims to deliver safe, inclusive, and high‑quality play spaces that encourage physical activity, social interaction, and inclusive play for children and young people of different ages and abilities. A key focus is ensuring the play areas provide strong play value, longevity, accessibility, and a welcoming environment for the whole community.

1. INTRODUCTION Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council (the “Council”) is seeking to appoint the services of a contractor, to deliver a green roof shelter structure as part of its ‘Local Places for Nature’ funded projects. The project is looking at new ways of turning ‘grey to green’ by using nature as a way to combat the effect of climate change; help us deal more effectively with issues relating to noise and air pollution, and nature emergency. The project will use the best practices obtained through similar projects throughout the county borough. 2. BACKGROUND INFORMATION The existing shelter located at Margam Country Park is need of replacement, and will be replaced with a new green roof shelter to enhance the biodiversity in this hand feeding area for livestock. The project will be managed by Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council, led by the Countryside and Wildlife Team Biodiversity Officers. The existing structure is approximately 8m Long by 4.5m Wide, and 2.5M tall. It is Enclosed on three sides, has multiple signage posters and 3 wash basins on the inside. The back wall is used as a fence for an existing paddock for livestock. 2.1 LOCATION The project is located at the hand feeding station with Margam Country Park, Port Talbot SA13 2TJ. 2.2 PROJECT TIMESCALE The Council are looking for a suitable contractor to complete the works, as detailed below, within an anticipated timescale of completion no later than Jan 2027. Works is to start September 2026 for design and then construction, with planting to occur Nov-Dec. 3. CONTRACT REQUIREMENTS This entails the construction of a metal or timber shelter able to support a wildflower (Biodiverse) green roof, including the necessary ground preparation works and concrete pad. The structure must adhere to all building standards and utilise the specifications within the GRO code. (GRO-Code-2021-Anniversary-Edition.pdf). The project shall include the removal, relocation and reinstallation of the existing handwashing facilities. All works shall be carried out in accordance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, all relevant British Standards, fire safety requirements including BS EN 13501-1, and applicable health and safety legislation. Accessible handwashing facilities shall be provided in accordance with Part M of the Building Regulations (Wales) and Approved Document M. At least one wash-hand basin shall have a maximum rim height of 850 mm, provide clear knee space beneath, be fitted with easy-use taps, and have sufficient clear floor space to enable use by wheelchair users. The contractor shall ensure that access to the handwashing facilities complies with the requirements of the Equality Act 2010 and relevant accessibility standards. Where necessary to provide an accessible route and meet duties relating to reasonable adjustments, the contractor shall design, supply and install a suitable access ramp, including any required handrails, landings and associated works, to ensure safe and inclusive access for wheelchair users and persons with limited mobility. All accessibility provisions shall meet the duties for reasonable adjustment under the Equality Act 2010. The project aims to expand on existing good practice within the county, supports local flora and fauna; contributes positively to the removal of air pollution; and improves the overall look and feel around the feeding station area of Margam Country Park. The contractor will be required to complete the works following the elements described below: 1. The constructor will remove the existing shelter, the existing washing facilities are to be repurposed where possible. [RR1.1] 2. A flat concrete pad will need to be installed as a base for the green roof structure. 3. Removal of a livestock fence is also required as this backs onto the structure, and will need to be replaced. ( Approximately 8m livestock fencing. This is to be confirmed with the Margam Park Team) 4. Working closely with the Biodiversity team and using the GRO code, the contractor will construct and install a green roof shelter, enclosed on the back and one side. Plant selection is required to be pre-agreed with Biodiversity teams. Including habitat sites such as wood mounds/rockeries, areas for water. 5. Working closely with the council, the contractor will be required to comply with any relevant CDM Regulations and consider the required need for future inspection and maintenance of the structure. 6. The contractor will be required to ensure that the shelter is watertight and able to support the saturated weight of a green roof. 7. To ensure the success and longevity of this project, the contractor will need to include a maintenance programme (inclusive of plant replacement and watering) for the first 12 months following installation. 8. Design and installation of new bilingual signage within the structure (How to wash hands, Safety for pregnant women around sheep, handwashing after handling animals sign) Knowledge and/or experience in Green Infrastructure and the delivery of a similar project/s is essential. 4. DELIVERABLES The contractor will be expected to provide: 1. Removal of existing shelter, whilst keeping the existing washing facilities for reinstallation later. 2. Installation of a temporary handwash station during construction 3. Install new livestock fence. 4. Install a foundation for the green roof shelter. 5. Construct a green roof shelter including native and local providence wildflower planting. All features to include the provision and planting of plants. 6. Reinstall washing facilities/access in line with Equality’s Act 2010 and Building regulations. 7. Evidence that CDM Regulations, building standards, fire regulations and relevant legislation in relation to the nature of the structure have been followed 8. Create and install new signage to replace the old hand washing signage 9. A 12-month maintenance programme post-installation, to ensure the successful establishment of the plants as well as making sure the installed structure is watertight, safe and fully functioning 10. Completion of the works anticipated to take place before or on 1st Jan 2027 with a defect correction period of 12 months post completion. Forestry and Land Scotland (the Authority) has an ongoing requirement to place a Framework Agreement with external Contractors for the provision of soil surveys across all of Scotland. The successful tenderer(s) will be required to: * Undertake standard surveys, including: - Carry out site/soil/peat depth surveys of afforested, clear felled, open hill and ex-agricultural land (please note that a very large proportion will be either afforested or clear-fell). * Undertake non-standard surveys, including but not limited to: - Bespoke type of soil survey e.g. peat depth probing; or - Assessment of newly acquired land including possibly reclaimed land such as old mine works. For each survey, the successful tenderer(s) will: - Record the site/soil patterns and associated specific data, using the FC soil classification; - Map Soil Polygons and associated linear and point data in a digital format; - Peat Depths ideally to be recorded in the Peat Depth layer via supplied digital layer (currently via ESRI Fieldmaps). Access to which plus any necessary training to use the app will be provided by FLS. - Deliver all data outputs from the survey, as specific digital GIS format directly into Foresterweb, together with associated attributes; and - Produce a written report for each survey site.

Hook Parish Council is looking for a local, ecologically based organisation to manage Bassetts Mead as a SANG for up to a 5-year period. The organisation must provide strong evidence of having managed and maintained a SANG site, which will include construction and repairing countryside infrastructure, having the ability to organise volunteer working parties, to manage contractors and have the ability to graze and manage cattle at Bassetts Mead, as well engaging with the public. The successful organisation will be expected to work closely with the Environment and Community (E&C) Officer, with the expectation to attend quarterly meetings to ensure that each area of the site is maintained to the highest level.

The London Universities Purchasing Consortium (LUPC), acting on behalf of the UK Universities Purchasing Consortia (UKUPC), is establishing a Framework Agreement for Maintenance Services. The Framework will provide Participating Institutions with access to suppliers capable of delivering a broad range of building maintenance services to support the safe, efficient and compliant operation of buildings and estates. Services may be required on a planned, reactive or project basis and include building fabric maintenance, mechanical, electrical and plumbing/public health (MEP) maintenance, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, and associated maintenance activities. The Framework will also include grounds and external maintenance services and the delivery of minor works projects under the relevant Lot. The Framework is divided into two Lots: Lot 1 – Maintenance and Associated Works Lot 2 – MEP Maintenance Each Lot is further divided into regional panels to support local service delivery and provide nationwide coverage. The regions are: Scotland; North West England; North East & Yorkshire; Midlands; Wales; South West England; London (Greater London); East of England; South East of England; and Northern Ireland. Suppliers may apply for appointment to one or more regions. Call-off contracts awarded under the Framework will be formed using the NEC4 Facilities Management Contract (FMC), including Service Orders for maintenance activities and, where applicable, Project Orders under Option X27 for minor works and projects.

The improvement works encompass the removal of existing play equipment and surfacing and the design and installation of a new play scheme within a £140k budget.
